Reader's Corner Book Club

Rediscovered Books is launching a new book club featuring books discussed on Boise State University President Bob Kustra’s popular radio show, Reader’s Corner.

The Reader’s Corner Book Club, sponsored by Boise State Public Radio, meets at noon the third Thursday of each month starting Jan. 19th at Rediscovered Books, 180 North 8th Street. Store owner Laura Delaney will lead the hour long discussions and several restaurants will offer a catered lunch.

Delaney, who opened Rediscovered Books in 2006 with her husband Bruce, said she decided to launch the book club as a way to continue some of the conversations she hears on Reader’s Corner as Kustra interviews authors about their respective books.

“A book club makes you read books you never knew you needed to read,” Delaney said. “With Reader’s Corner, the connection is even stronger because we can tap into the radio show interviews and newspaper columns about the books.”

Reader’s Corner with Bob Kustra airs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday and repeats Sunday at 11 a.m. on KBSX 91.5 FM. Kustra and the Reader’s Corner team also write a column about featured books that appears on alternate Sundays in The Idaho Statesman.

Since 2003, Kustra has interviewed more than 300 authors on Boise State Public Radio about their novels and nonfiction works in history, politics, science, travel, and other areas. More information about the book club is at rdbooks.org and boisestatepublicradio.org/readerscorner
