5. The Pheonix Crown  by Kate Quinn and Janie Chang

The Phoenix Crown by Kate Quinn and Janie Chang book cover

Releases in paperback on February 13, 2024

This book was so well planned out, with great historical facts and characters. I love that it had history about the San Francisco area, earthquake, fashion, opera, and it had a mystery and romance. - Dianne

4. The Other Valley  by Scott Alexander Howard

The Other Valley by Scott Alexander Howard

Releases in hardcover on February 27, 2024

The idea of time travel is a story often told, but The Other Valley takes it to another level. All time exists simultaneously, and it is only possible to travel backwards or forwards in time in times of grief. Knowing this Odile, after seeing something disconcerting, breaks all laws to go back in time to change the present in this coming-of-age story. - Rebecca G.

3. The Fox Wife by Yangsze Choo

The Fox Wife by Yangsze Choo

Releases in hardcover on February 13, 2024

Yangsze Choo is a master at creating complex and intricately connected characters in her writing, and she just keeps getting better with every book she puts out. The Fox Wife is one of her best so far, with shape-shifting foxes, a family curse, murder, and revenge. I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about Chinese Fox lore alongside a great historical background in China and Japan. Highly recommend! - Kalli

2. The Blueprint by Rae Giana Rashad

The Blueprint by Rae Giana Rashad

Releases in hardcover on January 13, 2024

The Blueprint takes us to a place that is frightening and, yet, not outside the realm of possibility. In an alternative United States, The Blueprint follows Solenne Bonet, a Black woman, in world where women have been relegated to chattel conditions and Black women in particular live lives as concubines in a system that mirrors US History in the South. Interwoven with the story of her ancestor Henriette, Solenne walks a narrow line between then and now and tries to find a space to survive and possible even thrive. - Britney

1. The Women by Kristin Hannah

The Women by Kristin Hannah book cover

Releases in hardcover on February 6, 2024

This novel about 3 Vietnam era nurses just swept me away with the honest depth and understanding of the role women do support in a war. The time described while in the hospitals in Vietnam and the sad homecoming for these ladies is so visceral. If you enjoyed WHEN WE HAD WINGS about the 3 nurses in the Philipines in WWII you will love this one too. So well written and a great book club pick, can't wait until it is on the shelves for everyone. - Dianne
