Best Sellers for 2022 at Rediscovered Books
It’s time to count down our top 10 bestselling books of 2022! These books are widely beloved and truly excellent reads. This year our list features several titles from local authors, some banned books, titles we picked to be featured in our Read Freely Project, and more.
Let’s start with number 10.
Day took Boise by storm with his book of Boise photography this holiday season. It is simply gorgeous.
Song of Achilles has been on this list a few times and we’re so glad that such an excellent book keeps finding its way to new readers.
Coming in at number 9 is the 1619 Project: Born on the Water. This picture book is a companion to the bestselling work of non-fiction The 1619 Project and was part of our Read Freely Project this year.
We Had a Little Real Estate Problem by Kliph Nesteroff is number 8. Also part of our Read Freely Project, this book tells the past and present of Native American comedy.
Look Both Ways: A Tale Told in Ten Blocks by Jason Reynolds is a fantastic story about community and what we don’t know about each other’s lives. It’s ultimately about empathy and kindness and should be read by kids and adults alike.
A tiktok sensation, The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid was number five on our list this year.
Local author Alan Heathcock’s 40 comes in at number 4. 40 had a hugely successful release this year and we loved being a part of the release party.
Number three on our bestseller list for 2022 is Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. This is a staff favorite and also now has an adaptation for young adults!
Another local author, Anthony Doerr, remains extremely popular in the Boise Valley and is our #2 bestselling book of the year. Cloud Cuckoo Land is excellent and truly worth the wait.
And finally, our bestselling book of 2022 was The House on the Cereulean Sea by TJ Klune. This cozy fantasy about found families has been a staff favorite for years and is a delight to read.
