Staff Reviews

I now understand why this was the number one recommended book when I began bookselling. I entered this fantasy world and I never wanted to leave. There was so much love, warmth, and joy wrapped up in this unconventional family. The children were hilarious as much as they were lovable. Their unique qualities shined on every page. Additionally Arthur and Linus were wonderful both in their chemistry with each other and as a family. Every now and then you just want a happy read and this is it.

This book was lovely (and I mean this in the most flattering and sincere manner). It was a sweet and gentle read that was an amazing and pleasurable experience page after page. Klune's characters are tangible, distinct, and lovable. They embody the good in the world that we all want to see--they are brave, hopeful, kind, compassionate, and funny. They are human (or not). They evolve. They grow. This book was laugh out loud in places and brought tears to my eyes in others. It has been a long time since I read something that was so engaging and so healing in such an angry, confused world. TJ Klune's messages (subtle or not) resonated with me and have kept me thoughtful and giggling since I finished the last page. I will be sharing this book with many people!
