A worthy follow up to Doerr's 2015 All the Light We Cannot See. The storytelling is engaging and intriguing, the settings and characters are well developed and full fleshed out, the plot is twisty and convoluted, and I simply could not put it down. Page after page, I just kept telling myself "just one more section" as I was drawn deeper and deeper into this well crafted "maze" that spans time, place, and people in a way that made time pass in a heartbeat. This nearly 500-page book is a wonder and one that I cannot wait to share with readers.

Stories are precious, precious things that sneak inside your heart and stay there as you grow until you can eventually gift it a roost in someone else, and Cloud Cuckoo Land is one of those stories. Every character, every time period, every thing is connected by one grand story and, boy, does it pay to read to the end. Before I knew it, I was in love with each of the characters and desperately flipping page after page to see where they end up, and I'm so glad I did.

And in a not-so-distant future, on the interstellar ship Argos, Konstance is alone in a vault, copying on scraps of sacking the story of Aethon, told to her by her father.
