Join Whitman College professor and author Aaron Bobrow-Strain on July 21, 2020 at 7pm MST for a Writer's Workshop, "Escaping Quarantine, Writing About Place."
These days, with the pandemic keeping us at home, writing can transport us to new destinations, a world away, or around the block. In this workshop, award-winning author Aaron Bobrow-Strain (The Death and Life of Aida Hernandez: A Border Story) will explore the craft of developing setting and bringing "place" alive.
All stories take place somewhere. But some stories create such a vivid connection to place that their settings take on real power, shaping readers’ emotions, expectations, and desires. What books have done this for you? Bring your favorite examples and be ready to talk about how place influences your writing.
This event is FREE and open to the public.
