Hidden Gems You Might Have Missed...

Ahh, the joy of "click bait". In our Social Media perusings, how many of us have clicked on that "hidden gem" link for our next meal or vacation spot or even our next Netflix foray?   Well, we as booksellers are not immune either.  But our "click bait" comes in book form.  As we shelve books, read Advanced Reader Copies, cruise Tik Tok, we are always enticed by someone else's book suggestions and recommendations.  In fact, we live for them.  After all, we don't work at a bookstore for nothing!

Many people look for the New York Times Best Sellers or ones recommended here or there on TV or radio, even from Social Media.  But the most fun part of being a bookseller (aside from being surrounded by BOOKS) is the opportunity to share our own "hidden gems" with people who come into the bookstore.  There is nothing quite as heart racing and job affirming as putting one of these jewels in someone's hands and they actually take it home with them.  Believe me, there is much enthusiastic conversation after the fact and a few high fives in the back room.  Did I mention that we love books and that we love to talk about books?

Well, enough talking for now.  Here is a brief (?) list of our staff's hidden gems for you to enjoy and add to your TBR pile.  Click away...
